First stop was Petrified Forest in Escalante where Greg and the Ranger convinced me to do the 45min walk. It was quite pretty and petrified wood is so colourful!
It was hot dusty but amazing to descend into the canyon and walk amongst the hoodoos. Very haunting and eerie, some of the hoodoos have weathered away leaving walls with windows and turrets. Walking between them is just awe inspiring.Later we drove to Panguitch the nearest town about 40min away, and were treated to a family run BBQ for dinner – yum-o.
